Our History
Keene Baptist Church held its first service on January 15, 2023. We started with a simple Bible study on Sunday afternoons and watched as God blessed with many visitors during this phase. We started official Sunday Morning services on April 2, 2023. In the months to follow, God brought a strong core of believers to the church and we grew in biblical unity. Keene Baptist Church officially chartered with a membership role on October 29, 2023. Today, we are a thriving and loving church who are doing our best to serve the Lord in Spirit and in Truth. In our short history, we have seen God do great and mighty things! To God be all the glory!
Our Leadership
Zach Shives, Pastor
Pastor Zach Shives was raised in a godly Christian home and grew up in Maryland, Oklahoma, and Texas. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of eleven and began training for ministry as a young man. After High School, he attended Heartland Baptist Bible College and graduated with honors in 2014. Since then, he has continued to further his education and is a dedicated lifelong learner.
He has over 10 years of full-time ministry experience. For almost 7 years, he served as an associate pastor, youth pastor, worship leader, and children's minister at Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Texas. For several summers, he also served on staff at Silver State Baptist Youth Camp in Sedalia, CO.
In 2021, Pastor Shives started preparations to plant Keene Baptist Church. After planning and raising support, the church launched in January of 2023.
Pastor Shives and his wife, Kate, have 5 precious children. As a family, they enjoy reading, music, hiking, and skiing.
The Shives family has a deep love for the community of Keene and a passion to see people come to Christ.
Noah Gudger, Pastoral Intern
Noah Gudger was raised in a godly home and grew up in Albemarle, NC. He was saved at the age of seven and surrendered to the ministry at the age of thirteen.
He graduated from Heritage Baptist College in Rossville, GA, in 2022 and promptly started preparations to plant a church in New England.
Noah will be with us for a season of ministry training before going out to plant a church in Peterborough, NH. He has already proven to be a hard worker, a quick learner, and an incredible help to Pastor Shives.
Noah enjoys CrossFit, hiking, college football, and is learning to like the New England Patriots.
He has developed a deep love for the community and has a strong desire to see souls come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
